How Much Does a QEP Charge?

Working with a qualified exercise  professional can help you achieve greater fitness more quickly, safely and comfortably. Because the title "personal trainer" isn't regulated, they can have a wide range of health and fitness experience and education. Make sure your personal trainer has certification from a nationally or provincially recognized organization, as well as experience dealing with your specific health concerns or interests.

Rates for personal trainers depend on their education level, experience, type of certification, amount of continuing education, and where you see them (for instance, in a community fitness centre or your home). Here are some typical rate ranges:

  • Personal Trainer:  $35 - $75 per hour

  • Exercise Physiologist: $60 - $100 per hour
